WRITING THE WEREWOLF NOVEL: MIDNIGHT WRITING CHALLENGE

WRITING THE WEREWOLF NOVEL: MIDNIGHT WRITING CHALLENGE

WRITING UPDATE:

MIDNIGHT WRITING CHALLENGE
So I have been doing a writing challenge for myself where I write atleast a 100 words in an hour every night at midnight of my wip werewolf novel During the Blue Hour. I’ve started this like a month or so ago and I have managed so far to complete 3 chapters of over 6000 words on totally new chapters and scenes within my 2nd draft, cause sometimes I go over the 100 words within that hour. And its pretty fun for me because I get motivated and just start writing. So currently I just completed chapter 30-32 and in those chapters a lot of secrets were revealed and some questions were answered and I’m glad I wrote it and the chapters seem substantial enough to hold together well especially through this new writing challenge .
I say this challenge I started helps alot to get rid of writers block and so far I havent had it in a couple of months and I’m currently alot closer to finishing this novel now as the word count is now currently at 68,228 words . So I’m nearing the 80,000 mark for a regular fantasy novel. My first draft of this novel that I had completed in 2013 it was originally around 70,000 and so there is a total difference of course within these drafts.

  • Alot of new scenes
  • Alot of characters were cut out of this draft
  • Alot of character arcs were changed and switched around.

So I’m going to try in continue this writing challenge into this next chapter and completion. Have ya’ll done anything like a writing challenge for yourself? How did it go?
